Unemployed? Under employed? Understaffed? New ‘Bacon’ Temporary Job App Comes to the Rescue App makes landing a gig or hiring an employee as quick and easy as calling an Uber The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the US economy in ways none of us could have predicted. Tens of millions have lost their jobs or their businesses. But as dark and confusing as the present economic landscape may seem, to those deprived of their livelihoods a Provo, Utah company says, “don’t give up hope – help is on the way!” The company, Bacon, has developed what it calls the Bacon Work On-Demand app; a “never-be-jobless” mobile app that offers hourly, daily, or weekly employment opportunities for displaced or underemployed workers while also providing a vetted personnel pool for employers. “Bacon is all about making temp work professional and reliable,” says company CEO Hunter Sebresos. “We do that with a mobile app you can download from the app store that enables workers to find jobs lasting in duration as short as a single shift. It also allows companies to find and hire help on-demand, which right now is a big deal because a lot of companies are trying to figure out how to assemble a workforce and rebuild after the economic devastation caused by COVID-19.” Sebresos says that the inspiration for Bacon came well-before the COVID-19 outbreak, when he realized how many people were willing to work non-traditional shifts: single-parents who need living expenses, veterans reentering the workforce, or retirees looking to do something productive with their time. “Whether you are a worker looking for a job, or an employer looking for immediate temporary or full-time workers, this employment model represents an emerging new trend in the way people are thinking about work and the way our economy is adapting to it,” says Sebresos. “Society will benefit as a result of embracing and normalizing temporary employment. The gig economy will help the nation’s economy stay strong during this time of change and uncertainty.” “If we can band together as companies and as workers, find each other, and make those connections happen -- which is what our company is good at doing -- then the whole US economy and workforce can emerge healthier. We are resilient and innovation will help get us through. Bacon is proud to be part of that innovation. To help the economy recover from the COVID-19 lockdown, Sebresos is inviting businesses with hiring needs to use
