Dan Thomas, XYZBuys Marketing Director, also known as â??The Idea Manâ?? among his XYZBuys colleagues, has been brainstorming for the last 2 years as the companyâ??s Senior Business Analyst. He has helped to propel XYZBuys.com to global recognition as the leading innovative online shopping mall. His multifaceted talents include Website Process and Content Manager and Program Developer for XYZBuys.com. He was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. Danâ??s parents owned a small business which encountered its share of glory and gloom. At an early age, Dan observed the emotional and physical challenges of being an entrepreneur. Sometimes careers start years before anyone even knows it. In his junior year of high school, Dan was elected treasurer of the student council, making him manager of the school store that provided funds for the student council activities. Prior to starting his role, he inherited a $600 deficit from the prior year, and was thrust into restoring stability to store operations plus repayment of the deficit. This one year taught him about inventory ordering and control, vendor management, accounting, budgeting, and developed people skills as the store was dependent upon volunteers. At the end of his junior year, the deficit was repaid, and the store sported a $1500 surplus which was not bad for 1970-1971. Dan graduated from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, NC, with a B.S. degree in Mathematics and Finance minor. He was a member of Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity.
