Speaking on Business: Utah Leads Together 3.0

This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. We launched Utah Leads Together as an initial plan early in the coronavirus pandemic. We have now released a 3.0 version to outline final steps as we reach recovery. Our high-risk population remains a concern and the plan distinguishes between low-risk and high-risk guidance as we move forward. Anyone who falls into the high-risk category should take extra precautions to ensure they do not get the virus. Utah cares about our seniors and we remind you to take extra precautions when serving or engaging with higher risk populations. The pandemic is not affecting all Utahns the same. Our multicultural community is important and has seen a disproportionate impact in cases. Seeing this need Governor Herbert convened a multicultural subcommittee of the COVID19 Taskforce. Version 3.0 identifies and prioritizes short and long-term goals for vulnerable communities. The investment we allocate at this time in projects that are needed despite the virus like road construction, trail maintenance, development in workforce training will redound to our benefit. These public-private partnerships to invest and build Utah better will lead to a better normal for our state. Now is the time to double down on Utah’s strengths with strategic initiatives that empower statewide growth. Visit coronavirus.utah.gov to learn more.
