This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. The coronavirus has impacted countless lives and fractured our economic health across industries. Now more than ever we need to come together for the greater good. To this end, the Salt Lake Chamber -- as the voice of business -- took action to unite the regional and local chambers of commerce to forge a statewide policy coalition. The Utah Chamber Policy Coalition seeks to speak as one voice on jobs and opportunity to promote business success and prosperity statewide. The new coalition will work with our local, state and federal leaders to champion policy ideas related to the structural foundations of business success. The areas of economic attention will include taxation, regulation, education, housing, the environment and transportation to name a few. One thing we have learned from the pandemic and economic crisis is that we are better when we work together in harmony. The collective power of the chambers of commerce across the state will magnify the voice for change, progress and upward mobility that we all seek. The business community expects the chambers of commerce to stand together during this time.
