This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. For more than a century, the United Way has worked with local organizations to meet the needs of our community. Resources and support are critical for individuals and families throughout our state. And that’s never been more true than now. United Way 211 is a community partner that provides families information and referral services. If you need help with housing costs, food and meal support, utility or income assistance, please go to 211utah.org to find a list of resources. United Way 211 provides a connection to over 10,000 services, and if you need help through the coronavirus, 211 will assist you to get you back on your feet. You can also dial 2-1-1 on your phone to be connected to a live operator; they will provide a crisis hotline connection to counselors and other specialists. If you would like to volunteer or make a donation, please go to 211utah.org. There, you’ll find everything you need to get started, and there’s something we all can do to alleviate the needs of others. Again, it’s as easy as dialing 2-1-1 on your phone. The United Way is there for all of us. I’m Derek Miller, of the Salt Lake Chamber, and this is “Speaking on Business.” Originally aired: April 21, 2020.
