This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. Stadler US is a Swiss train manufacturer with a location here in Salt Lake City. Stadler has been successfully growing and providing job opportunities in our community and was able to successfully navigate through the pandemic while keeping all of its employees working. CEO Martin Ritter is here to tell us how. Martin Ritter Stadler US is proud to be a local employer with a great product that can provide job security, even in the most uncertain of times, and the safety and security of our employees is our highest priority during these unprecedented times. We knew right away that we wanted to do everything we could to stay operational and guarantee that all of our employees could keep working. For that to be possible, however, we had to make a few adjustments. We introduced shift work to ensure physical distancing throughout the production area. Wherever it wasn’t possible to keep distance, we provided face masks, and we installed sanitizer stations throughout the building and heavily increased cleaning. Additionally, our employees have been focused on keeping themselves safe outside of work by following guidelines from the CDC and Utah Department of Health. Derek Miller Stadler has shown how to successfully reduce the negative effects of COVID-19 on a business by keeping employees safe and healthy, all while continuing production.
