Despite the negative effects of COVID-19, Loveland Living Planet Aquarium has been able to retain all their employees and reopen with safety measures in place. Founder and CEO Brent Andersen is here to share more. BRENT ANDERSEN The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium closed for two months during the spring to do our part to minimize the spread of COVID-19. In such a crisis, we felt it was important to weather the storm and retain our team. When reopening, we took many steps to mitigate risk, including timed ticketing to limit capacity, physical distancing reminders, and following the mask mandate. We implemented these along with other state, county and federal guidelines. Although it will take time to recover financially, we are optimistic about the future and we will continue to serve our mission to inspire people to explore, discover, and learn about Earth’s diverse ecosystems. With nearly two additional acres of space to explore, our new Science Learning Campus will provide greater opportunities for learning. We are grateful to have a talented and dedicated team who will help lead us forward with resilience, and we are thankful for the support of the community, our sponsors, donors and partners – all those who have helped us get through this time.
