Uncharted (2022)

Today's show is a review and discussion of the video game film adaptation UNCHARTED.

In 2007, video game developer Naughty Dog and Sony Interactive Entertainment released the action adventure immersive game, Uncharted for the Playstation 3 game console that allowed players to solve puzzles and hunt treasure in storylines based on historical fiction and folklore.  An immediate success, the game turned franchise, pumped out another (10) installments and grossed over $41 million dollars in game sales alone.

It didn’t take a whole lot of prompting to adapt the game’s story to a screenplay and so in 2008, Avi Arad, founder of Marvel Studios, announced that he was working to bring the video game to the big screen.  Beginning with the games creators Naughty Dog, who had no interest in the film adaptation in 2008, a slew of complications plagued the project for the next 11 years.

Well finally in January of 2020, they had a script, a director, a cast, and the green light to begin pre-production.  Flash forward to 2022 and here we are taking a look at Sony Playstation Productions first feature film and the end of a 15 year journey.

In this show, we do more than a movie review by delving into the lives of the cast and crew, fan theories, trivia, scene breakdowns, and anything related to the film itself.  Needless to say, our shows are a little longer than your average movie review show, but we can assure you that our shows are jam packed with entertaining and interesting discussions.  If that sounds like your sort of bag, hang out with Kenny and Del as they get into Uncharted.
