Creative Force: Doris Withers Interview

Beryl interviews Dr. Doris C. Withers. Dr. Withers is a Professor of Biology and Education, is among the founding faculty at Medgar Evers College. Dr. Withers has had a long career of service to the College. Beginning in 1972, her career at the College has encompassed broad experiences in teaching, curriculum development, research, and higher education administration. She teaches general biology, microbiology, genetics, science for non-science majors, and science education for teachers. She has researched and written about adult scientific thinking and learning and about general education and science college teaching. Dr. Withers is currently working on a partnership grant with the National Human Genome Research Institute, NIH and the Smithsonian to develop genomics lessons and to pilot them in six Brooklyn High Schools.
