A Renaissance for Citizen Journalism - An Interview with James O’Keefe

On this episode of Blunt Force Truth, Chuck and Mark are joined by award-winning journalist and founder of Project Veritas, James O’Keefe. James has been very successful at exposing corruption, fraud, and wrongdoing across the country. 

Chuck and Mark kick off by asking James about how the media coverage of the Coronavirus. James explains how the real stories will come from citizen reporting and the importance of citizens stepping up to reveal the truth. 

They continue their conversation by asking James about the type of people that Project Veritas wants for their undercover journalism work. They talk about how this type of work is the only way to bring out the truth of what is happening with the Coronavirus. James also explains the power that audio and video has when it comes to journalism.

journalism. James explains the push back that he has received from the mainstream media. He also explains the complicated recording laws that Project Veritas has had to work around but has done so successfully.

Aside from leading Project Veritas and Project Veritas Action, O’Keefe is the author of two best-selling books, Breakthrough: Our guerilla war to expose fraud and save democracy, published in 2013, and American Pravda: My fight for truth in the era of Fake News, published in 2018. Both books are personal and revealing works about both his experiences on the line of scrimmage of American democracy and his take on what mainstream media has become and what it should be.
