Interviews from Vendors and Marketeers from the ACB 2018 National Convention

Blind Abilities Special Correspondent Cheryl spencer was in St. Louis and grabbed a few interviews with vendors on the Exhibit Hall floor. Enjoy this presentation of Cheryl’s chat with the following vendors:

* ViewPlus

makers of a variety of Braille embossers and software. Check out their products at www.ViewPlus.com

* Tangible Surface Research

Manufactures tactile markers for those pesky flat screen appliances in your kitchen. These are more than just dots and are not printed in braille. Instead they offer tactile shapes that clearly mark a universal representation of the standard buttons on those devices, such as a right triangle for Start, and an X for Stop or Cancel. Owner, Ann deWitt, describes how these are more functional than dots and braille, and she’ll also make tactile overlays for exercise equipment and virtually anything you might wish to special order. Check out their web site at: www.TangibleSurfaceResearch.com

* Friends In Art

Represented by Peter Altshul. Peter is also an author and tells us how to check out his latest book,. Check out Friends In Art at: www.friendsInArt.com

  • The Blind Perspective

Cheryl chats with an old friend of blind Abilities, Karen Santiago, editor in Chief of the monthly digital newsletter, The blind Perspective. this newsletter is written about blind people by blind people and contains a variety of recurring columns, ranging from book reviews to gardening, and Tech to Gadgets, found in Cheryl’s own monthly article, Spencer’s spotlight.  Find out more about the blind Perspective on their web site: www.TheBlindPerspective.com
