First Cow Director Kelly Reichardt

In this episode, Ange interviews Kelly Reichardt, director of First Cow. A film set in the 1820s, it follows two misfit best friends trying to find their American Dream as the first cow is being brought into the Pacific Northwest.  They discuss the beauty of friendship, the dynamic between colonists and the Native Americans, her experience as a woman filmmaker in the indie "boys club" film world, and the dangerous effects of capitalism - even back when the country was first being developed.  Filled with beautiful shots, topical social commentary, and a sweet cow (Evie!) - watching this film is a treat. These are uncertain times, but once theaters are back open, or when it's available for streaming, check out First Cow.  Please and thank you.
