This is nurse/dancer/musician/activist Marina Stankov-Hodge's third time joining us on Bitch Talk! She's one of our favorite guests, and her episodes reflect her uniqueness and diversity as a person. Her first episode centered around her origin story leading up to becoming a nurse and her work in Brazil (which ends with an original song performance!), and her second episode was recorded in April, about her experience as a frontline worker during a pandemic. It's only been 2 months, but as we all know, A LOT has changed. The first thing that sparked us wanting her back on the show was a video posted by Mix'd Ingrdnts, of Marina breakdancing during a protest in Alameda. We get into the connection between her activism and love for dance, systemic racism, and her experience being a child of mixed race parents. She had so much to share, we're breaking it into 2 episodes!
Be well, stay safe, and thank you for staying home.
