To Cleanse Or Not To Cleanse?

Published: April 19, 2013, 8:07 p.m.

Carol Newman strives to make every day as healthy and organic as possible. She welcomes chances to educate others about how they can also gain the highest potential for energy and vitality in their own lives through lifestyle changes like cleansing toxins, eating organically, and keeping a positive focus.

In this episode, Carol and host Kimberly Henrie talk about the popular 3-day cleanse. Former BioGirl Health Shows touched on toxic relationships and whether they are causing toxic waste in your life, and doing spring cleaning in your life. For Carol, the next logical step was to take a 3-day cleanse.

Carol’s sister had just done the Dr. Oz cleanse in order to give an honest review of the program. Because Carol follows an organic diet and stays in good physical shape through regular exercise, she expected cleansing to go very smoothly. With this in mind she shopped for the appropriate ingredients and prepared for Day 1.

Carol Shares Tips for Surviving the Ups and Downs of Cleansing

While some people choose to take a 3-day cleanse to lose weight or get a jump start on a new diet, Carol chose to do this to detox and cleanse. Here are some things Carol shares about Day 1 of her experience:

-BREAKFAST – Carol begins Day 1 of the 3-day cleanse and finds that preparing the organic foods is not as easy as it originally seemed. But the breakfast drink is really tasty.
-LUNCH –Carol was also able to tolerate the lunch drink despite that it was not as appealing as the first drink of the day, though.
-DINNER – Carol’s biggest challenge at dinner was overcoming the hurdle of drinking something with a cayenne pepper flavor.

Tackling Some of the Problems that Arise When Cleansing

Carol did experience some bloating but was happy to find that the detox bath at the end of Day 2 was helpful. Because she felt compelled to give an honest review, she stuck with all three days. She did make a slight change on Day 3 due to bloating and nausea, in hopes of decreasing discomfort.

A 3-day cleanse is something that can benefit everyone. Although you will experience some side effects as your body detoxifies, overall the experience can be a positive one. Tune in now to hear the rest of Carol’s story, including what prompted a trip to her family doctor!
