b'When thinking of Harlan Hays, music almost immediately comes to mind. His whole life all he\\u2019s wanted to do is sing. Growing up in San Francisco, Harlan had access to the rich musical world of his home city and asked his parents to join the San Francisco Boys Chorus (SFBC) when he was only 8 years old. For nearly 25 years he\\u2019s been part of SFBC, working now as a voice teacher and Director of the Graduate Chorale. Harlan\\u2019s musical presence extends even farther, as he sings in the Extra Chorus for the San Francisco Opera, directs SF\\u2019s Music Art and Adventure Camp, and is an artist in residence at the Ruth Asawa SF School of the Arts.\\n\\nHarlan is thoughtful and gentle, his warm nature and great stature reflected perfectly his bellowing operatic voice. Harlan understands the power of music to heal and inspire, and uses his gifts to share that power with his beloved city.
