Christians attempt to \u201dimitate\u201d Jesus when they are maltreated. Their motive is \u201ddo what Jesus would do\u201d. However, God \u2019s objective during trial is to use the circumstance to compel us to entrust ourselves to the Holy Spirit that He might manifest Christ in us if maltreated. When Christ suffered, he committed Himself to Him that judges righteously (1 Pet. 2:23)
