b"Luke 15 shows a Father who is extremely confident, confident in Relationship, Reconciliation, and Grace. I believe this is how God is towards all of us, towards all humanity. The Father in Luke 15 lets both of His sons BE FREE. They are both totally free. Free to waste money, Free to obsess of being a great steward, free to sleep with harlots, free to be a virgin, free to ask for a lot of money to spend at the strip club, free to ask for nothing (not even a skinny goat), free to party, eat and drink, free to work in the field. The two sons are very different and live very differently and see their Father very different. The consistent Person in the story is the Father. He's consistent in running to both sons to reconcile. He's consistent in Grace and Goodness and Mercy. He doesn't punish either sons, not once in the whole story. He's consistent in keeping things free, free to live and grow and learn. Our Heavenly Father is confident, not insecure. He's confident that His Grace and Relationship will win both of His sons over so He can LET THEM BE FREE AND LEARN LIFE. Grace is confident. An insecure Father would not have given his son the estate early to waste on wild living. But our Father is secure in Himself, in Grace, to win everyone over."
