Gathering 151: “Moral Foundations – Fairness”

Published: Oct. 5, 2020, 9 p.m.

What does your moral foundations profile look like? Elections offer us the perfect opportunity to reflect upon our morals and intuitive ethics that shape our narratives and virtues. While the culture wars and populist movements are beginning to gain momentum, where do you stand? Join us this week for our worship series, Moral Foundations, as Pastor Tony examines the second of six moral foundations, Fairness.     Does it ever pay to be selfish or are we naturally hardwired to be fair and altruistic? While the idea of fairness is largely subjective, it typically falls into one of three categories: deservedness, equality or equity. And while tensions and conflicts arise when a culture group choses one category of fairness over another, we can level the playing field simply by agreeing to accept what life hands us. When November 3rd arrives, ask yourself which candidates demonstrate fairness? Which candidates inspire that in you? Empower your decision this election by aligning your choice with your own moral foundations.     Recorded live at Beatitudes Church in Phoenix, AZ on 10/02/20  Preaching: Rev.
