Gathering 117: Let's Talk About God - The God Who is Not

Published: Feb. 2, 2020, 11:30 p.m.

Is it okay to doubt and/or question the existence of God? Those three letters, “G – O – D ” tend to carry a lot of baggage. Statistics show that as many as 45% of individuals who call themselves Christians stop going to church, stop reading the Bible and stop praying when doubt sets in. What is it that drives them away? Is it a sense of guilt and shame? Do we discriminate and judge those who doubt? As a progressive Christian church, what are our expectations for these individuals who may have doubts? Join Pastor Tony Minear, Ph.D. as he continues a provocative new worship series designed to explore and stretch your experience and intellectual understanding of a wide range of topics from a Progressive Christian perspective. Listen this week as we explore the existence of God and the issue of doubt. Discover ways to encourage those who have doubts and point them to spiritual communities like Beatitudes Church where we as individuals can have those authentic and honest discussions in a space of safety and solidarity.
