Gathering 114: Still Standing

Published: Jan. 13, 2020, 10:30 p.m.

"Still standing." It’s an appropriate adage for one who has weathered the storms of life with courage and fortitude, and is very apropos for our guest speaker this week at Beatitudes Church, the Rev. Dr. Dosia Carlson. As a beloved member of Beatitudes Church for 48 years, Rev. Dosia recently celebrated her 90th birthday and shares this special message of faith and love through the lens of one of Jesus’ parables as written in Matthew 7:24-27, the “hearers and doers” of the word. Listen as Rev. Dosia invites us to think about and consider the foundation and ground upon which we are building our lives and our faith. Is it built on solid rock or whispery sand? Are we standing still or are we still standing? Notice the distinction? As we enter a new year, let’s further explore this choice we have as we continue to build the church.
