b'In life, we all make mistakes. Negative behaviors can stem from several factors, like past trauma and psychological or personality disorders. Try as we may, we cannot control another human being \\u2013 they must want to change for change to occur. At best, we may be able to influence. When we attempt to compel or demand forcefully, the change tends to be short-lived when forced under duress. As adults, we get to live with the consequences of our decisions. Know that people lie. But as Maya Angelou once said, when in their behaviors, people tell you who they are, believe them! You have no obligation to participate in the negative behaviors of others. To protect and preserve your mental health and well-being, you should only feel obligated and be vigilant about setting and maintaining firm boundaries when dealing with toxic behaviors.
