Hello everyone, welcome to our week in Geek!

\\n

It’s gonna be a quick one (muffled laughter) as we pulled a late night movie watch and recording session to see Hobbs and Shaw. We present you with out spoiler free and spoiler filled review of this newest addition to the Fast and Furious Cinematic Universe (FFCU?). With little else to talk about we dive right on into the free shit, good shit, review our streaming movie of Serenity and answer last week’s podquestion of “which now defunct business do you miss the most?”

\\n

This week’s streaming review was Serenity. I was definitely not sold on this movie based upon the trailers but one must never judge a book by it’s cover. That’s a lesson that this movie teaches you about half way through. What starts out as one man’s obsession with catching that great tuna turns into a almost film noir hit movie before it goes full tits up and becomes a existential mind trip. I definitely did not see the twist coming and the connection to McConaughey’s daily life and the internal struggles that his son was going through were something else. While this movie is not a favorite of either of us it did surprise us. The concept was solid and for the most part the execution was as well. But something just felt off and we both had troubles putting our fingers on it. While it’s worth giving a shot it falls just short of some of our favorite movie head trips.

Our next week’s streaming review is on Netlfix’s Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.

You can suggest a streaming movie that you want us to watch and review on future episodes that are on Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime or HBOgo.
