Award-winning Australian director Justin Kurzel discusses his filmic influences, unpicks the challenges he's faced and offers advice for emerging filmmakers. Kurzel started his career as a theatre designer before directing his critically-acclaimed first feature Snowtown. Last year, his adaptation of Macbeth starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard was nominated for the Palme D’Or at Cannes Film Festival. This year will see the release of his most recent project, the much-anticipated adaptation of blockbuster game franchise Assassin’s Creed.
