ROB319-P: Rapid time to value with the open-source Robot Operating System

Published: Dec. 8, 2019, midnight

b'This presentation was recorded prior to re:Invent. There are many ways to develop robotic applications. Over the past few years, the maturing of the Robot Operating System (ROS) has created a valuable open-source code base for robotics researchers and developers. With the release of ROS Melodic and ROS 2, we are reaching a tipping point of having secure, scalable enterprise-level code available to developers for use in production. As such, we are seeing more companies move production workloads to open-source ROS and contribute code to the community. In this session, we review the financial and development advantages of maintaining sync with ROS and participating in the open-source community.'
