Directed by D’Urville Martin from a screenplay by Jerry Jones and starring Rudy Ray Moore, Lady Reed, D’Urville Martin, Jerry Jones and West Gale, Dolemite was based on a character created by Moore in his wildly popular underground comedy routines.
