Peter and John have been arrested inside the temple preaching the saving power of Jesus Christ.  Thrown in jail overnight the meet with the whole Sanhedrin and defend themselves from healing a lame man.  They are told to preach no more but as soon as they are out in the Temple they continue to preach.
