S3. E7. Stop Anxiety with The Peter Pan Effect

The Peter Pan Effect is a method of stopping or preventing or getting through an anxiety/panic attack. It is not backed by science whatsoever. It is something I found to help me get through panic attacks. When the feeling comes, try to think of a happy thought. If you ever watched the movie Hook, I'm basically referencing the situation with Peter Pan. From a psychoanalytical perspective, the only way he could fly was to remember a happy thought. But it must be powerful enough and meaningful, in order for him to fly.

With your anxiety or worry, I want you to do the same thing. I'm not saying you're gonna fly obviously. But you might fly through your trials. You might look more fly. And most importantly, you learn how to train your mind. It's going to take time. Just keep trying. Eventually, you'll start to remember things that made you happy long ago.
