On September 16, 2020, a bipartisan bill was introduced by Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) and Congressman Lee Zeldin (R, NY-1) that would fast-track quantum internet innovations in the United States by establishing and supporting a quantum network infrastructure research and development program at the Department of Energy\\u2019s Office of Science: the Quantum Network Infrastructure Act of 2020. This proposed legislation would amend Title IV of the National Quantum Initiative Act (NQIA) of 2018 which was passed to form a coordinated Federal program that accelerates quantum research and development for the economic and national security of the United States.
