Xan started off in the late nineties running the Deep Space Lab Sessions at the Alibi Room, a series of mediated breakbeat environmental installations created by artist remixing D-Jays. In 2005 while producing under the moniker Faktion, his Drum and Bass track "Anfang" was featured on air by CBC Radio 2 as well as Grant Lawrence's "Breaking New Sound #25" . While playing select performances, he has focused his wide ranging energies into genre hopping compositions, lovingly crafted on his ebon Roland V-Synth. Xan's sound is said to be drawn from cyberpunk nihilism spliced with epic sonic themes steeped in mysticism.
