My wife and I have become addicted to watching really old television shows in the morning. It used to be common for us to check in with Good Morning America, Today and CBS. Bad news serves as a magnet. It poisons the attempt to have a great day. Viewers tuning in to measure the distance between them and the worst of storms. The drama on Bachelor Father, Bewitched and Father Knows Best is better for the morning diet. But I would love to see the numbers on the cause and effects of morning news. It goes untouched because it’s journalist’s doing their jobs of informing, shaping and educating the community. 90% of what we take in while watching those morning news programs is something we can’t do anything about. It’s out of our control. But we still get emotionally attached. The weakest part of this journey? When the news we’re getting becomes hearsay. We receive it. By the time it reaches another person we’ve shared our interpretation and or opinion. It’s based on fact. No thanks! I want my really old television shows!
