How did we get here so quickly? Where are we on the map? Is this something we can Google? I keep trying to get Alexa to respond. She does with a favorite song or a totally different definition. Caught in a moment of having to make up our own mind. When every decision has the weight of mystery while being protected by a sword of ambition. It’s almost as if life is asking us, “Where would you like to be?” What? Have we actually been handed an avenue of choice? What if we don’t respond? Then it becomes a self-generated guilt trip based on excuses and laziness. Let’s pull back the giant lens. It paints for us exactly where we are. It’s called the present. No need for a huge poster that screams, “You are here!” I’m no different than anyone else. I want that glimpse of the future. I want to hold onto an expectation. But would this redefine the word willing? How willing are you to keep your hands off the creation of the future? If you were given a glance could you still allow it to happen as it did in the vision? I’d want to change the shape. To create what in the moment feels like a better story. Sadly, the choice would mean leaving behind the real thing. What does any or all of this mean? It’s called an invitation to do nothing more than listen to your heart beat. To be mindful of where you are. It doesn’t matter how fast time is flying. The best step taken is knowing yourself first. It’s too easy to wobble back into your past. What are the real chances that you’re gonna get a glimpse of your tomorrow? Right now. 24 hours. 60 minutes. 60 seconds. You are present. Be grateful. Celebrate the sounds of now.
