I call it Stream Thinking. A daily discipline as a writer. One page. Ten minutes. No editing. Write about what’s moving through your present place of Now. No judgement. No perfectionist. It’s about trusting your creative instinct. The opening sentence and or thought can be a little tough but then just let your energy flow. This week it’s all about our words. Is there value in what we have said? What we want to say and what we’ll probably never say. As of late, it’s what we say that can be career ending or it can influence large groups to ignore what some have labeled both right and wrong. Huge digital platforms have taken it upon themselves to censor word makers that don’t fit within their expectations and goals to reach people in a peaceful and peace filled way. In all things we speak, the inner core of what we say must make the entire self know that no matter what time of day or night it is its being recorded. Are public speeches protected by the 1st Amendment? Motivational speakers and preachers move people. What is seen as a positive can also come across as a serious negative. The words we choose to use. How about those we elect to hold back because it might mean getting kicked out of the cool kids club or knocked free of the money supporting we who speak? What is the mental impact of the decision to not say something? But if you could what words would you say? Is it worth what others might say?
