b'Stee never wanted to be compared to his parents, who were classically trained singers. Instead, he grew up wanting to be an engineer until he heard R&B vocalist Mario and felt inspired. In 2014, he formed his band and performed at weddings and other events. One of Stee\'s biggest fans and supporters was his cousin, Matthew, who also wanted to be a singer, but struggled with diabetes, which physically prohibited him from living his dream. Matthew has encouraged Stee to audition for "The Voice" since 2013. Unfortunately, Stee never got the opportunity to tell Matthew he would be taking the stage because Matthew passed away in May, but Stee is excited to live out this journey in honor of Matthew.'
