Over Doing The Giving

An interesting thought was shared in my morning prayer, "For who we are isn't to be a self but rather a united generation." Inspired by a conversation about being a caregiver. In the past three years I've been very close to three who've given a huge part of their lives away to serve those with Alzheimer's. They didn't choose this leadership role. They were called to it. I've never heard them complain about the expectation. I call them Earth Angels. It's never been about self. As we grow with this modern wave of sights and sounds we're seeing this inside the borders of other nations such as Poland. They are welcoming Ukrainians with open love and comfort. This generation cannot fold. We must remain in the mindset of outreach. But we must be aware of how being so giving can quickly become a heavy weight in your soul. Burn out. Getting beyond that wall requires awareness. Knowing how you got to the burn out stage while still locating the strength to continue reaching out. Tomorrow is always unwritten. Being a giving person is a true gift. Be in touch with the soul. Once it's been burned out it's extremely difficult to get back to giving.
