Calling Out Your Why

I’m not sure why. Why do we have to explain our why? But we do. As if to fit in. Then again, maybe it’s a parenting tool planted in us. We watch a lot of crime drama that’s always asking, “Why?” Research shows that asking why is our way of justifying our choice. The attempt to connect or to step out of hiding a little further. The attempt to explain why to yourself can be another brick in the wall. While in the forest this morning I was convinced that this was my greatest moment of awareness during any fall season. Then I asked myself, “Why?” I shouldn’t have asked. The focus should’ve been on gratefulness.
