Expecting a reward but getting shut down. Following where they think they can benefit instead of following God is a means to selfish ends. We can always be confident in following God. Selfishness in the root of the customs and the ways of the world. Can you see what God is showing you when you are focused on self? David following after the heart of God and does the unexpected. We are called to love God and love people, to be that difference in the world.
