The Monster demands a mate!

For the next terrifying installment in the Apocalypse Video Shocktober Spooktacular: Part II we must go back in time, all the way to 1935. Universal Studios is now the king of monster films, and they are about to release a sequel that will not only stand the test of time nearly 100 years later, but will also inspire a young Mel Brooks to create one of the best comedies of his career.

I’m your host, Dave, and joining me as we make some new friends and try our best to stay away from fire are fellow horror hounds and monsters cobbled together from various cadavers, Mike, Jackie, Ryan, and Immortan Hoof (aka: Nick).

Topics of discussion in this episode include the beginning of franchise filmmaking; we raise an eyebrow at the surprising moments of brutality in 1930s cinema; and finally, we talk about why it’s never a good idea to install a “Blow Up Your Lab” lever in your castle.
