Captain’s Log: Stardate 41153.7
After a long and arduous process of getting human skin grafted to my new hand, I have returned to the store to find everything is in perfect working order. Perhaps...too perfect. To my horror, I have discovered that Michael, the man I left in charge and hoped to one day promote to First Officer, has not only disobeyed my last command, but he has become something of a celebrity in the wasteland as a result. To make matters worse, his newly acquired fame comes from watching a Star Trek film...something he knows I hold very dearly and would relish the chance to discuss if the opportunity arose.
However, due to Michael’s blatant disregard for my command, I have reconsidered his promotion to First Officer and will, in fact, be issuing a punishment instead - a punishment that will last until we have watched and reviewed all 178 episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. I hope this will show Michael the error of his ways and never to disobey my orders again.
Along for the ride with Michael and I are fellow cinephiles Ryan (a Trek newbie) and Jackie (a confirmed Trekkie).
Topics covered in our first voyage into the final frontier include the futuristic utopia of 80s Star Trek, which feature men wearing skirts and *gasp* a bald Captain; we debate how much “sex and fear” is actually included in this PG rated episode; and finally, we touch on the depressing Picard sequel and its differences with TNG (namely, decapitations and frequent use of F-bombs).
The Apocalypse Video Trek-Cast will return with “The Measure of a Man”. This is your Captain, Dave...signing off.
