Cat People (1982)

If my time working at Apocalypse Video has taught me anything, it’s that the answer to most of life’s questions can be found in movies...most of the time, anyway. When it comes to the matter of wanting to transform myself into an animal in order to one-up my ptera-speaking friend, sadly, the movies did not hold the answer I was looking for. Thankfully, while I may not have found a viable transformation guide in 1982’s Cat People, I did manage to discover a bizarre erotic thriller that made me remember why incest is so gross and why David Bowie was one of the greatest musicians to ever live.

I’m your host, David Snider, and joining me as we unleash our inner beast are fellow cinephiles Ryan Caldwell and Michael Althouse.

Listen as we discuss what may be the sexiest song ever made; we try to figure out what Paul Schrader was trying to say with his hyper incestual cat erotica; and finally, we debate whether Cat People’s copious amounts of nudity is enough to single handedly rebuild our Adult Film section.
