b"Gerald (Jerry) Mehrab (WA2FNQ) started his broadcast career at two well respected AM's on Long Island. WGSM and WGLI. After his first decade in broadcasting focused almost excluseivly in radio, Jerry was presented with a big decision... to take a job with WNBC-TV in New York City or stay close to home with an opening at HBO, who was about to start construction on their new earth station in Hauppauge, NY. Jerry worked his way up to Director of RF Management before retiring about 10 years ago. Jerry is a very active operator, working HF, local VHF (6 and 2 meters) as well as participating in a weekly amateur TV net. He lives with his wife Rosalie (who does a great job tolerating Jerry's hobby), their daughter Mindy and their Bull Terrier Maisy, who seems to get into all sorts of trouble in the ham shack!"
