Use their name to show that you care. Try to insert their name at the beginning or the end of a conversation. Don\'t be afraid to ask for their name again if you forget it.\\n\\nDo NOT use "sir" or "ma\'am" in the US:\\xa0This is too formal in the Northeastern United States or on the West Coast (Boston, NY, Portland, Washington State). It can also make you sound submissive or like you are putting yourself below the person.\\n\\n"You\'re welcome" instead of "no problem":\\xa0When you say "no problem" you are saying that what you just did for that person was easy and it didn\'t mean anything to you. "You\'re welcome" doesn\'t make a judgment about what you have done for the person.
