In Switzerland, Gert-Jan Oskam, paralyzed waist-down for over ten years, has remarkably regained the ability to control his lower body, courtesy of artificial intelligence.

\\n

Since a motorcycle mishap in 2011 left him paralyzed, Oskam had been wheelchair-bound. But things took a positive turn recently when a team of scientists pioneered an innovative solution to help him regain mobility.

\\n

They developed a "digital bridge" that connected Oskam\'s brain and spinal cord, effectively circumventing the injured parts, which resulted in the unexpected joy of his regaining the ability to walk.

\\n

The groundbreaking procedure involved capturing Oskam\'s thought processes and using a unique AI-powered "thought decoder" to convert them into stimulations for the spinal cord, thereby reinstating voluntary movement. The breakthrough doesn\'t stop there \\u2013 Oskam has demonstrated signs of neurological recovery, even managing to walk with the assistance of crutches while the implant is deactivated.
