Podcast #45: Tutorial - The Lightroom Catalog - Part 1

Published: Nov. 14, 2007, 7 p.m.

b'In this tutorial I outline the basics of where Lightroom stores your previews and metadata, how Lightroom links to your source files, and how all that relates to your operating system. I also show you how to integrate Lightroom with Bridge\'s browser-based workflow, so that both raw processors can be synchronized to the same set of XMP metadata.\\n\\nNote that this "video" podcast includes screen capture and graphics that are optimized for viewing on your computer, so I highly recommend downloading the large version (1024 x 768) from my iDisk rather than watching it on an iPod. It can also be viewed by downloading it directly into iTunes (if you are accessing it by subscribing via the Music Store), or by copying it into iTunes on either a Mac or a PC (if you\'ve downloaded the iPod version from my iDisk). Once copied into iTunes, it can be transferred to a Video iPod, and viewed that way as well.\\n\\nFinally, it\'s possible that only the audio track will be heard on devices other than Apple Video iPods (depending upon their MPEG4 compatibility), and the photographs will not be seen.\\n\\nThe free Quicktime player for Macintosh or Windows can be downloaded from:\\n\\nhttp://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/'
