Bilaal ibn Rabaah (ra) "The Rock of Fortitude" 1 of the 14 Guards. Session 20 The Adhan for the females praying in congregation. Bilal (ra) climbed the tallest roof belonging to Syed Nawaar (raa) the mother of Zayd ibn Thabit (ra), to sing the Call to Prayer. After Fajr, he took himself to a corner glorifying His Lord till sunrise, thereafter offering further prayers. During Ramadhan, Bilal (ra) would call the Adhaan not for Fajr but to state to those praying Tahujjud that its time for sehri and awake those who are asleep. Thereafter the Adhan for Fajr was called by a blind sahaba, Abdullah ibn Umm Makthum (ra).
