On the basis of material culled together in this eight year old blog-Rabbi Bechhofer demands Rabbi Kivelevitz admit to his conclusion that Rav Yoel zt"l suffered from serious flaws which demote him in comparison to other giants of the 20th century. Kivelevitz forces himself to read the ugly invective that the young Rav Teitelbaum penned against the first Chief Rabbi of Modern Israel,Rav Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook.Rabbi Bechhofer points out that despite the Rov being saved by Kastner a staunch Zionist, and his community reaping the benefits of Israeli government policy,Rav Teitelbaum never recanted or softened his extreme positions. Rabbi Kivelevitz offers justification for the incendiary language used by the Satmarer,as his intense belief that the whole edifice of creation was threatened by Zionism and any figure that lent it support.Kivelevitz feels that Bechhofer's ire should be directed more concerning the Rov's views on the wars that defended the State of Israel.
