In the United States, many students who are studying a degree at university will have to take one to two years of general courses to complete their degree. These general courses may include social sciences, humanities, english, and math. Now for an engineering student, you can imagine the frustration of taking these general courses because these courses do not relate to their specified major.\nBelieve it or not, I think there is value in these general and prerequisite courses. I think these courses teach students how to be well rounded problem solvers.
