Charlotte Perkins Gilman (1860 - 1935) was an American writer, author, and lecturer who wrote the famous short story \u201cThe Yellow Wall-Paper.\u201d Though her stories drew from her own experiences as a woman to imagine feminist utopian futures, they envisioned progress through uniformity, promoting eugenics and racial purity.
