This week, we will explore how we, as God\u2019s Chosen People, are Becoming Living Stones. Today\u2019s passage is 1 Peter 2:4-12, and I will read it from the NLT because it provides a better flow of Peter's message for us in the 21st century. 4\xa0You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God\u2019s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor. 5\xa0And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What\u2019s more, you are his holy priests.[a]\xa0Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.\xa06\xa0As the Scriptures say, \u201cI am placing a cornerstone in Jerusalem,[b] chosen for great honor, and anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.\u201d[c] 7\xa0Yes, you who trust him ->recognize the honor God has given him.[d]\xa0But for those who reject him, \u201cThe stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.\u201d[e] 8\xa0And, \u201cHe is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that makes them fall.\u201d[f] They stumble because they do not obey God\u2019s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. 9\xa0But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people.
