This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to\xa0Wisdom Philippians-11 Living Beyond Our Needs \u2013 Daily Wisdom Putnam Church Message \u2013 02/18/2023 Joy in Sharing \u2013 Living Beyond Our Needs 4:10-23 Last week, we focused on Standing Firm in the Lord, \u201cThe Cure for Anger and Anxiety.\u201d Today, we will explore Looking within, Looking around, Looking up in a message titled:\xa0 \u201cLiving Beyond Our Needs.\u201d Today's scripture passage is Philippians 4:10-23 on page 1830, in your Pew Bibles. 10\xa0I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me.\xa0Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it.\xa011\xa0I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content\xa0whatever the circumstances.\xa012\xa0I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry,\xa0whether living in plenty or in want.\xa013\xa0I can do all this through him who gives me strength. 14\xa0Yet it was good of you to share\xa0in my troubles.\xa015\xa0Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days\xa0of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia,\xa0not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only;\xa016\xa0for even when I was in Thessalonica,\xa0you sent me aid more than once when I was in need.\xa017\xa0Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account.\xa018\xa0I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus\xa0the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant\xa0offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.\xa019\xa0And my God will meet all your needs\xa0according to the riches of his glory\xa0in Christ Jesus. 20\xa0To our God and Father\xa0be glory for ever and ever. Amen. 21\xa0Greet all God\u2019s people in Christ Jesus. The brothers and sisters who are with me\xa0send greetings.\xa022\xa0All God\u2019s people\xa0here send you greetings, especially those who belong to Caesar\u2019s household. 23\xa0The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ\xa0be with your spirit.\xa0Amen. \xa0 Remember the purpose of Philippians? To encourage believers to find Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered joy in living, serving, sharing, and resting. The theme is summed up with a word Paul repeats throughout the letter: \u201cRejoice!\u201d We can have a contagious, deep-seated joy when we have confidence that Christ is in complete control\u2014not just of the big things, but of the little things as well. \xa0 As we have discovered in the first part of Philippians 4, such joy can be applied to strained relationships as well as to difficult anxiety circumstances, leaving us worry-free. As we fix our minds on positive, uplifting, virtuous, and excellent things, we become transformed individuals enveloped in God\u2019s incredible peace.
