This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Hebrews-23 Commitment and Contentment \u2013 Daily Wisdom Putnam Church Message \u2013 10/08/2023 Commitment and Contentment Hebrews 13:1-7 We continue our extended series through the book of Hebrews in the New Testament. Last week, our focus was \u201cWatch Out For Worldliness,\u201d which can cause us to get distracted on the marathon of faith. We concluded last week\u2019s passage with the thought of not being like Esau. Don\u2019t settle for a bowl of stew when we have inherited the birthright as God\u2019s child. Today, we begin the last chapter of Hebrews by exploring Standing at the Crossroads of Commitment and Contentment. Let\u2019s read Hebrews 13:1-7. On page 1878 in your Pew Bibles. Concluding Exhortations 13\xa0Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.\xa02\xa0Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers,\xa0for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.\xa03\xa0Continue to remember those in prison\xa0as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering. 4\xa0Marriage should be honored by all,\xa0and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.\xa05\xa0Keep your lives free from the love of money\xa0and be content with what you have,\xa0because God has said, \u201cNever will I leave you; never will I forsake you.\u201d[a] 6\xa0So we say with confidence, \u201cThe Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?\u201d[b] 7\xa0Remember your leaders,\xa0who spoke the word of God\xa0to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate\xa0their faith.
